Collective Exchange was formed by three creatives, Ina Norrman, Kate Grimes and Sarah Higgins, during a Designers in Residence at Middlesex University. The collective explore social, historical and site-specific narratives through the process of making. Our purpose is to engage residents to celebrate the history of the area they live in, connecting past, present and future through the use of craft and conversation. During our first project we invitied people to share stories and participate in workshops with the aim to bring together the diversity of Tottenham with a focus on skills linked to the rich craft history of Tottenham. This exploration used clay dugg up 40 meters under ground on the New Tottenham Hotspur stadium development signifying the changes occuring in this very part of North London.
